ER24 paramedics attended to an elderly couple that was assaulted at their residence on a farm on the D380, 5km from Nottingham Road in KwaZulu-Natal, late last night.
On arrival at the scene, paramedics were met by SAPS members who took them through to an elderly couple who were in the lounge.
It is understood that the couple was preparing to go to sleep when they were assaulted and their hands were bound.
It is understood that they managed to free themselves and call the SAPS for help.
Upon assessment by paramedics it was found that the man (77), and the woman believed to be about 70 years of age, sustained injuries to their heads and bruising to their wrists.
Paramedics attended to them and SAPS is investigating the farm attack.
