Dutywa police arrested a 57 year old man for the alleged rape of a 22 year old woman on Tuesday, 8 May 2018 at about 20:00.
The incident occurred after the suspect asked the woman to accompany him from a tavern to his residential place to collect more liquor.
It is alleged that when they arrived at his place he closed the door, strangled and raped her. The police arrested the man.
He will appear in the Dutywa Magistrate Court on Thursday, 10 May 2018 facing charges of rape.
