Mdantsane police are investigating murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition after a 45-year-old mother fatally shot her son in Slovo Park informal Settlement, NU 6, Mdantsane on 4 August 2021, at about 13:30.
It is alleged that the 24-year-old deceased had an argument with his sister after she accused him of stealing her cellphone. They fought and the deceased assaulted his sister with a wheel spanner.
The suspect took her boyfriend’s firearm and fatally shot her son instantly.
The circumstances surrounding the incident forms part of the investigation.
The suspect is due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
