The fear of these two frail sisters must have been immense when they were cruelly attacked in their home by four black men with knives on Saturday night 31 October 2020, at around midnight. Anna Mulder (89) and her sister Hester van der Merwe (83) were asleep in a house in Wavecrest, Jeffrey’s Bay when they were attacked.

Anna was tied up with the oxygen pipe providing her with oxygen at night. Can anyone imagine the fear Anna must have gone through as she even struggled for enough oxygen to reach her body? Can anyone imagine the acute pain Hester went through when she was thrown to the ground by the savages and her ribs kicked off? Tannie Anna was not lightly tied up. Her arms turned purple after the attack from the force used.

The 4 attackers removed the glass window in the front door to gain access to the house. The attackers fled with cash, cellphones and a vehicle after they were sure there is nothing else of value to steal. Anna managed to untie herself and tried to phone the Police in Jeffrey’s Bay , but they did not pick up the phone.

She then phoned her son Cedric who stays in Port Elizabeth at around 03:00 for assistance. It is important for people who stay outside of South Africa and who might read this to note that this type of savage attack on especially elderly people are daily occurrences now.
This was a frightening attack on these 2 women but at least they are alive. So many of our elderly people in their golden years are brutally murdered by gangs of black attackers on a regular basis.

This is the reality of the so called rainbow nation or mzanzi as the liberals like to call it.
