It is alleged that on Friday, 20 August 2021, at about 22:00, a 72-year-old woman was reportedly murdered and her daughter shot once in the upper body at Xhurhana A/A Lumayeni location in Lusikisiki.
According to police information, her daughter was sleeping at her homestead when four males arrived. One suspect shot the daughter in the upper body once while the other suspects stabbed her mother several times.
They then fled the scene.
The daughter managed to run outside the room and saw a vehicle leaving the homestead and also raised alarm to the community who immediately phoned the police.
A motor vehicle was found next to the school with four suspects.
All four suspects were arrested and a 9mm Norinco, one magazine and 9 rounds of ammunition were recovered.
Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
