A 55-year-old woman was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs during an intelligence driven operation by Mthatha K9, Ngangelizwe Vispol and Crime Intelligence members at Tyumbu locality on 28 April 2020, at about 14:00.
She was arrested after she was found in possession of 213 × dagga bompies weighing 1.484kg with the street value of R14 840, 104 × Boss Mandrax with the street value of R5200 and an amount of R490 in cash.
She will appear before Mthatha Magistrate Court on 29 April 2020.
And a 33-year-old suspect was arrested by Mthatha Vispol members following an information that he was selling cigarettes at Vulindlela Heights at about 09:00. The suspect’ s car was spotted and 990 packets of cigarettes were confiscated and the suspect was fined and paid R10 000 for Contravention of Regulation 11g (A) of the Disaster Management Act by selling goods other than essential goods.
The District Commissioner Major General David Kanuka lauded all the operatives.
