Why is Mveleli Mogolwane Gwabeni still in service?

Front National SA

On the 16th of May Front National wrote letters to minister Bheki Cele and the Commissioner of Police in the Eastern Cape Province, Lt gen Ntshinga, as well as to Interpol reporting a statement made an Eastern Cape police officer, Mveleli Mogolwane Gwabeni.

In a comment on the social media Gwabeni urged the murder of more farmers in South Africa.

Apart from an acknowledgement of receipt from Interpol, we have received no response from either the Minister or the Commissioner.

Army Major MV Mohlala was discharged from the National Defense Force on 17 May this year for a similar statement on the social media. Consequently we now have to accept that, while the Defense Force is prepared to act against officers being guilty of hate speech, the South African Police Service is not.

We once more demand an explanation of the Minister and the Commissioner in this matter and a statement on how they plan to address it. Just to assist them in following it up:

Constable MM Gwabeni is stationed at the Motherwell Station in Port Elizabeth. The address of the station is 54 Mcikwane Nu 11, Motherwell. He joined the Police Service on 6 February 2017 as student constable and graduated at Bisho at the end of 2017. His staff number is 72220252-1 and his ID number is also available, as well as his home address.

We await your response.
