Walmer detectives are on the hunt for four suspects after a robbery at a business premises in Walmer on Saturday 8 May 2021.

It is alleged that at approximately 16:00, the shop in Heugh Road, Walmer was closing when four unknown males entered. As one of the assistant’s attempted to shut the door, the suspect slammed the door into her finger, thus injuring her.

One of the suspects was armed with a firearm and forced both females aged 24 and 52 years old to the back of the shop, while the other suspects raided the shop.

Two cell phones, a laptop and cash were taken. It is further alleged that one of the victim’s was assaulted with a fire extinguisher on her head.

The security alarm was activated. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment prior to police arrival.

A case of business robbery was opened for investigation.
