On 12 July 2017 at about 10:00, members from SAPS Mount Road were on duty when they were alerted by community members in Sydenham that a person was walking in the street with a TV wrapped in a sheet.

The members spotted the person getting into a taxi. The taxi was followed and after a short distance it was pulled over.

The person aged approx. 25 years, was arrested. Further investigations revealed that the suspect was seen exiting a house in Ambrose Street, Sydenham.

The owner was contacted and confirmed that his house was broken into and that the TV belongs to him. Suspect was detained for housebreaking and theft.
