Port Elizabeth police are searching for two suspects after two people were shot and killed in an alleged gang related incident on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said that two men entered a stationary taxi in Korsten, then exited the vehicle and started firing shots at the occupants inside the taxi.
Naidu said that two people were killed and another person was injured and taken to hospital.
Police recovered a 6.3 mm firearm inside the taxi.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident a 32-year-old man was shot and wounded by unknown suspects in Port Elizabeth’s Northern Areas.
Naidu said that two men were walking in Kendrick street when they saw four men standing at a lamp pole. Shots were fired and a man sustained a gun shot wound to his neck.
The four suspects fled the scene and are still at large.
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
