Two children, both aged three, are reported to have drowned in a local dam in the Ludaka locality at about 19:30 on Saturday, 18 November 2023.
It is alleged that the children were playing in the water when they experienced difficulty. Another child who was close by, rushed home and reported the incident to the elders. A search was launched leading to the recovery of the two children, later in the afternoon, floating in the dam.
An inquest docket was opened for investigation. Police are urging parents not to allow their children to swim in dams, unsupervised.
