A 20-year-old woman and a 53-year-old foreign national are set to appear before the Ezibeleni Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 06 February 2026, facing charges of drug possession and dealing.
The arrest occurred on Wednesday, 04 February 2026, at approximately 07:30. According to police reports, officers on random patrol spotted a suspicious black VW Polo with Eastern Cape registration plates. They followed the vehicle to a residential premises in Ekuphumleni, Zone 1, Ezibeleni.
Upon request, the occupants granted police permission to search the vehicle. The search yielded packages of tik (crystal meth) and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police then requested and received permission to search the associated house. Inside, they found the 20-year-old female, who is identified as the girlfriend of the 53-year-old suspect. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery and seizure of additional drugs and cash.
The vehicle, suspected of being used in criminal activity, was also confiscated. The total street value of the seized narcotics and cash is estimated to exceed R150,000.
Both suspects were arrested at the scene. They remain in custody pending their court appearance.
