A another dark day for trucking in our country, South Africa. Esar transport driver Absalom Mnisi was hijacked on the night of 22 July 2019, by five men in a white BMW in Port Elizabeth. The truck was recovered but at the time Absalom was nowhere to be found. But on the morning of 23 July 2019, his murdered body was found in the bushes, he had been shot and killed for the load he was carrying.

Management of Esar will travel to PE to bring his body back. The company is devastated at the loss of one of their own. “Our thoughts and condolences go out to Absalom’s family and to the team at Esar transport. A life taken in the line of duty. A life taken too soon.”
