Police in Duncan Village are investigating a triple murder after three adult males were fatally shot in the Bhebhelele Informal Settlement on the night of 19 May 2026.

According to authorities, police received a complaint at approximately 23:20 and responded to Jiba Street. At the scene, officers found spent cartridges outside a shack. Inside the same shack, the bodies of three males were discovered, each with multiple gunshot wounds. Several cartridges and bullet heads were also recovered inside the shack.

The deceased have been identified as males aged 28, 36, and 37. Their names are known to police but are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

A preliminary witness statement indicates that the three victims had gone to the shack and, finding it locked, forced their way inside. The witness was instructed to remain outside and alert the group if the owner returned. While the witness was standing watch, four unknown males approached and opened fire on the victims inside the shack.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown. No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
