
A swift and thorough investigation by South African Police Service (SAPS) detectives from Mount Road has led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with the murder of a 65-year-old man and a house robbery in Newton Park.
The incident, which was reported to the police in the early hours of Thursday, 30 October 2025, prompted an immediate response from investigators. According to authorities, the detectives “left no stone unturned,” working tirelessly to identify and locate the suspects.
Their efforts culminated in the arrest of two women, aged 36 and 57, and a 36-year-old man within hours of the case being opened.
Nelson Mandela Bay District Commissioner, Major General Vuyisile Ncata, commended the investigating team for their work. He praised the detectives involved in the murder and house robbery investigation for their dedicated efforts since first attending to the complaint.
The trio has been formally charged with murder and is scheduled to make their first appearance in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 03 November 2025.
