A 21 year old man was arrested at Gqubeni Locality and three firearms and ammunition were recovered. It is alleged that members of Public Order Police (POP), K9 Unit and Crime Intelligence were busy with an Intelligence driven operation when they received positive information about illegal firearms kept on a nearby homestead.
On their arrival on the premises a thorough search were conducted and three firearms, one rifle with three cartridges, a 9mm pistol with one round and a shotgun.
The suspect was charged for illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of ammunition. The suspect is expected to appear at the Lusikisiki Magistrate court tomorrow.
