Three dangerous hijackers arrested in Uitenhage
Farm attackers arrested in Delmas area

The Uitenhage police officials acted swiftly last night, Sunday, 4 September 2016, and apprehended three alleged hijackers within minutes after they committed a crime in Kamesh. It is alleged that a 57-year-old male victim and two of his female friends were sitting in his vehicle in Eagle Drive, Mountain View, Kamesh, at about 23:30 last night, when they were approached by three unknown males.

One of the suspects took out a bottle neck, threatened the victim and ordered him and his female friends to get out of the vehicle.

The three suspects jumped into the Toyota Conquest and sped off with it in the direction of Uitenhage. The police were immediately notified as to what had happened and a description was circulated to all police stations in the area.

Members from Uitenhage SAPS, who were busy patrolling Caledon Street, Uitenhage, spotted the vehicle and immediately gave chase. Members apprehended the trio in Caledon Street, within minutes after the incident occurred.

The three suspects (between 19 and 25-years-old) will appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 7 September 2016.
