Mthatha Central police have arrested three suspects, all 17 years of age, after a housebreaking and theft occurred at Joyi Senior Secondary School during the weekend of 22nd October 2016.

All the suspects are learners at the same school and were arrested at Nyoka loc Baziya yesterday, 31 October 2016 at about 16:00.

The estimated amount of all the stolen goods found in their possession is R120 000-00. All were released in their parents custody as the are minors and will appear before court on Friday.

It is disappointing to hear that 17-year-olds are committing crime at such a young age. Released into the custody of their parents might no be such a good idea as they might escape and continue to steal, harass and cause more damage. Hopefully the courts will put the youngsters away for a long time and give them the opportunity to rehabilitate from evil criminal activities.
