Suspects nabbed with homemade shotgun, drugs, Stutterheim

A 52 year old woman from Kubusi Village, Stutterheim was arrested for dealing in drugs on the evening of 1 February 2019, during a crime intelligence operation.

Following an information from a concerned community member police managed to catch the suspect at her home at about 20:00. On the arrival of police members, they searched the house and found one arm dagga, forty four straws of tik, twenty small plastic bags containing tik, twenty three mandrax tablets, five half mandrax tablets and thirty five quarter mandrax tablets.

During the same operation a male was arrested at about 20:40 at his flat in possession of drugs. The suspect was caught with twenty boss mandrax tablets, 1 quarter mandrax tablet, twelve straws of tik, loose dagga hidden in a container, one R5 live ammunition and one homemade shotgun in his flat.

More than R5000 worth of drugs, shotgun and one live R5 ammunition were confiscated by police in this operation. Both the suspects will be appearing at Stutterheim Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 4 February 2019.
