Detectives at SAPS Swartkops is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of a man who was beaten to death and found lying on the side of the Addo Road on Saturday morning, 25 July 2020.

It is alleged that on Saturday, 25 July 2020, police attended to a complaint of two injured men, lying next to the Addo Road. Two men aged 27 and 38 years old were found severely beaten. Another male, approximately 27-years-old was found nearby, also with head wounds.

It is alleged that the three men were together and were picked up in Ikamvelihle by a group of men driving a white Quantum on Friday night, 24 July 2020 (time unknown). The men accused them of stealing cables and severely assaulted them with a rock. They were then dumped at the side of the road. One of them succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased person is known to the victims as all three are from Ikamvelihle. His address or next of kin is unknown. At the time of his death, he was wearing a blue top, blue jeans and blue takkies.

Swartkops police are investigating a case of murder and 2 cases of attempted murder.
