
A 39-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear before the Komani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 15 April 2026, to face a charge of motor vehicle theft.
The suspect was arrested by the Komani Flying Squad on the N6 highway while traveling from Whittlesea to Komani. Authorities confirmed the vehicle in question was a tipper truck believed to have been stolen from a construction site in Whittlesea.
According to the police report, during the late evening hours of 13 April 2026, the Radio Control unit received information regarding a suspected stolen tipper truck traveling on the N6 route from Whittlesea toward Komani. Members of the Komani Flying Squad were immediately mobilized. The vehicle, which matched the description provided in the complaint, was spotted and intercepted.
Upon being stopped, the driver could not provide a satisfactory explanation for being in possession of the vehicle. He was apprehended at the scene for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle. The tipper truck was recovered around midnight.
The 39-year-old suspect will make his first court appearance before the Komani Magistrate’s Court on 15 April 2026.
