Detectives conducted an intelligence driven operation resulting in the arrest on 26 February 2019, of a 32 year old male for alleged Murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm at Zone 3, Zwelitsha.

Police acted swiftly after receiving information about an unknown body at Zwelitsha Park. On 20 February 2019 police managed to arrest one suspect. This comes after Police were alerted by the community about a male that was allegedly fatally shot at the park.

Police investigated a case of Murder and thorough investigation led them to a suspect’s house and also the recovery of a firearm (Norinco) with no serial number that was found hidden in an old vehicle.

The suspect will then be appearing at Zwelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 28 February 2019.

The King Williams Town Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga commended the members for sterling efforts in investigating these crimes. “We will not tolerate such behaviour in our communities hence we ensure that those who break the law are arrested” said Brigadier Ngubelanga.
