The around the clock investigation into the murder of Nongqongile Sololo (77) at Gcina Village, Centane yielded positive results as investigators arrested a 26- year-old man on Friday 14 July 2017.
The deceased was allegedly stabbed to death on Wednesday 12 July 2017 during the night at her home where she was staying alone.
Butterworth Cluster Commander Brig Trevor Mey expressed shock at the senseless murder of elderly people and vowed that all those who are implicated in such cases will be arrested to face the consequences of their ruthless deeds.
The suspect will appear before the Centane Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 July 2017.
