King Williams Town Cluster Police together with Flying Squad and K9 Unit members arrested a male at Ndevana Location for business robbery.

Police were following a case of Business Robbery that occurred on the morning of 8 August 2017, where an undisclosed amount of cash and cellphones were taken from the victims. It is alleged that three suspects entered a shop at Smith Street, King Williams Town and demanded cash and cellphones from the owner and his manager and fled the scene with a green BMW.

Police spotted the vehicle next to a tavern at Ndevana Location and arrested one suspect (35) from Mdantsane Township and the other two suspects are still at large. Police confiscated the vehicle which was not reported stolen but belonged to someone from Mdantsane Township.

The suspect will appear at King Williams Town Magistrate Court on 10 August 2017.

The Acting Cluster Commander of King Williams Town, Colonel Andile Lamana thanked Police members for their quick response and ensuring that the perpetrator is apprehended, this sends a strong message to all perpetrators of crime that Police will not rest till the suspect is behind bars.

He also encouraged the community members to report the criminals and or criminal activities to the police on Crime Stop 08600 10111, Crime Line 32211 or the nearest police station.
