Persistent high density patrols in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth and excellent informer network resulted in the arrest of an attempted murder suspect.
On 14 June 2017 at about 19:30 Visible Gang Intervention Team members followed up on information received about the possible whereabouts of the suspect in Kleinskool. While members attempted to effect the arrest, community members prevented them from doing so.
This caused the suspect to get away. Not long after this, the suspect (20 years) was spotted in Calm Street and was arrested for attempted murder (shooting) which took place on 11 June 2017 in Calm Street in Bethelsdorp.
