Lady-Grey: From 2018-10-20 at 20:00 up until 2018-10-21 at 02:00 the members from Visible Policing supported by the local Community Policing Forum (CPF) conducted high police visibility operations. The focus areas included Transwilger, CBD, Khwezi Naledi, Steve Tshwete and the farm areas.

Activities included high visibility patrols, stop and search of vehicles and persons, compliance inspections at liquor outlets and the monitoring of closing times at Taverns.

The operation achieved the following successes: 401 liter of concoctions were destroyed and dangerous weapons and a tik pipe were confiscated. Two suspects age 49 and 38 years were arrested for cases of drunk and disorderly and J 534 fines were issued to the value of R3000-00.

Way lay duties were also executed at an identified farm that experience problems with stock theft and subsequently the remains of a slaughtered sheep were found. The suspects dropped the carcass and fled when they realize they were spotted by the SAPS.

No arrest were made however police investigations continue.

The Cluster Commander Brig Trevor Mey commended the members on for their sterling crime fighting efforts and thanked the Community Policing Forum for their collaborative efforts in the fight against crime.
