A 23 year old student is detained on a charge of murder after allegedly being robbed by two men during the early hours of this morning, 18 November 2018.
It is alleged that at about 05:30, the student was walking home when he was approached by the two suspects at the corners of Mackay and Campbell Streets in Central PE. One suspect was armed with a knife. He was robbed of his cellphone.
The student grabbed the knife from the suspect and allegedly stabbed him. The other suspect was arrested by a patrolling security vehicle.
The robbery suspect (approx. 25 years old) was detained. The student was also detained on a charge of murder. Both suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
