Police arrested a 40 year old male at Fleet Street in King Williams Town CBD. It is alleged that a truck was hijacked at East London towards the end of February 2018 and was driven and dumped next to Tolofiyeni Location outside King Williams Town.

Goods were taken and truck was recovered on the scene, a case was opened for investigation at King Williams Town SAPS. Police were alerted by the drivers of the truck that they saw their goods in one of the local shops at Fleet Street, King Williams Town. Police quickly went to the shop and managed to recover the stolen goods to the value of more than sixty thousand (R60 000.00).

The suspect is due to appear at King Williams Town Magistrate Court for possession of stolen property.

King Williams Town SAPS Station Commander Colonel Nomvuyo Mrwebi commended the members for their swift response that led to the recovery of stolen property from a hijacked truck and also for arresting of the suspect. Police will intensify a high visibility and foot patrols will be conducted in the area to ensure the safety of our citizens, she added.
