Stock theft is an ongoing problem in Tsolo in Qumbu and the Stock Theft Unit in the area have bolstered their efforts in clamping down on this crime which in some cases have claimed many lives.

Continuous raids are carried out by the Unit with the aim of tracing the rightful owners.

On Monday, 20 November 2023, Tsolo Stock Theft Unit conducted an operation at Ntshongweni locality in Qumbu where they recovered 23 cattle. One victim of stock theft positively identified 6 of the cattle which was then handed back to him. An enquiry docket has been opened for the remaining 17 cattle and they have been impounded at Tsolo Municipality Stock Pound.

Tsolo Stock Theft Unit requests anyone with lost/stolen stock to visit Tsolo Stock Pound with all necessary documentation so as to positively identify their missing/lost/stolen stock.
