Stock theft: 50 Stolen cattle and meat recovered, Sulenkama

Stock theft is a significant problem in rural areas which impacts on crime therefore every endeavour must be made to curb the continuous loss experienced by owners.

Between Wednesday, 26 July 2023 at 20:00 and Thursday, 27 July 2023 at 06:00, SAPS Sulenkama conducted an intelligent driven operation in the rural area at Nonyikila and Ntsohle locations.

At Nonyikila location, three females aged between 33-48 years old were arrested for possession of suspected stolen meat.

When the team moved to Ntsohle location, one male was arrested for possession of 20 rounds of ammunition and at Etwa location, 50 suspected stolen cattle were recovered.

During the operation, a 33-year-old male was also arrested for an unrelated case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

All the arrested suspects were detained and expected to appear in court soon.
