Stock theft: 13 Stolen cattle and 24 goats recovered, Sulenkama

The combined stock theft operations held in the area continues to yield positive results as another (13) thirteen suspected stolen cattle and (24) twenty four suspected goats were recovered in the Sulenkama area.

A combined, intelligence driven operation including the stock theft units of Maluti, Qumbu and KatKop members from visible policing were conducted on Tuesday the 15 November 2021 between 08:30 and 15:00.

The team of members then proceeded to Sulenkama locality following up on positive information on suspected stolen cattle and goats.

The information was accurate and the (13) thirteen suspected stolen cattle were recovered as they were hidden inside the yard of an old homestead.

On further investigation it was revealed that there were also suspected stolen goats that were hidden inside a hut.

As this information was also followed up the (24) goats were also found in the old hut.

There is no arrest at this stage but the investigation continues.

The cattle and goats were taken to Sulenkama stock pound for safe keeping.

The acting District Commissioner Brig Rudolph Adolph commended the stock theft units in joining forces. The team work made the successful recovery of the stolen stock possible. Thank you to the community for providing positive information that prevented the possibly selling of the stolen stock.
