In Sterkspruit, a case of business robbery was registered at the Community Service Centre after a shop owner was pointed with a firearm and an undisclosed amount of money taken.

It is alleged that during the weekend of 8 June 2019 at 08:00 in the morning, four suspects entered a trading shop situated at the old taxi rank after the owner opened his shop for his employees to enter. The owner was pointed with firearms and knives and ordered to open the till. Money was taken from the till and the owner was again instructed to open the backroom where more money is kept.

The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and a cellphone.

Through a multidisciplinary approach by the two provinces, the Eastern Cape and the Free State, the suspects were located and arrested by the SAPS in Petrusburg.

After further investigation, the suspects were positively linked as the ones responsible for the business robbery in Sterkspruit.

All the suspects will soon appear in the Sterkspruit District Court to face the law.
