In Mount Frere, The Regional Court sentenced an accused to fourteen years imprisonment on 10 October 2018, for raping a 22 year old female. The accused, Kotyana Thabang grabbed the victim whilst she was on her way from Phungulelweni locality to Magqozini Loc in Ntabankulu, where he dragged the victim to his home where he raped her. The incident occurred on 6 and 7 October 2018.
In another attempted rape incident, the Regional court in Mount Frere sentenced a thirty four year old accused, Mona Zwelidumile to six years imprisonment.
On 2 October 2015, the fourteen year old girl was alone at her home at Lugelweni Locality in Mount Ayliff when she was called by the accused to his home. On her arrival, the accused asked her to warm up some meat. He grabbed and took her to his bedroom.
He tried to rape her but the victim cried loudly and she was heard by the neighbours. The neighbours went to the accused home and prevented the rape from taking place.
