The swift collaboration between the various units deployed in the hotspot areas of Gelvandale resulted in the arrest of 2 suspected gang affiliates in Shauderville this afternoon, 20 September 2018.
It is alleged that on Thursday, 20 September 2018, the victim (23) and a friend were walking in Jameson Road Schauderville when a grey LDV drove up to them. The driver of the vehicle stopped and went inside a house while the other two occupants approached the victim. One of the suspect’s took out a firearm and fired at the two wounding one of them in the hand. The suspects ran off on foot.
PE K9 unit members were immediately on the scene and the two suspects were arrested at a house in Highfield Street. They are affiliated to the Fat Cats gang.
The Provincial Gang Investigation Unit is investigating a case of attempted murder.
Suspects, aged 16 and 17 years will appear in court on Tuesday, 25 September 2018.
