Following a petrol bomb attack on an emergency vehicle during protests yesterday, ambulances from the Eastern Cape Department of Health will no longer attend scenes on the N2 near Bluewater Bay, the Addo Road, Kamvelihle and Well’s Estate, spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said on Wednesday.
He said one of their vehicles was petrol bombed in Gigana Street, Wells Estate just before 11 am on Tuesday. The vehicle’s windscreen was damaged and the shocked driver drove into a ditch. Personnel were not injured but Kupelo said one of their vehicles was now out of commission.
