Team work between SAPS Kabega Park, community and a private security company led to the arrest of five suspects and the recovery of stolen property following a business robbery on Friday, 5 August 2022 in Seaview.

It is alleged that on abovementioned address at approximately, 09:30 a business robbery occurred at a spaza shop in New Rest in the Seaview vicinity.

Shortly after the robbery was reported, information relating to the suspects was immediately circulated via all SAPS channels. It is alleged that five suspects fled the scene in a blue Mazda Midge. The area was flooded with vehicles on the lookout for the suspects. All exit routes were blocked off.

At approximately 12:05, police spotted the suspect’s vehicle at another business and tactically approached the vehicle. Five suspects were arrested and all the stolen property which included cigarettes, cash and two cell phones were recovered.

A toy firearm was also confiscated.

The suspects were arrested on charges of business robbery.

The suspects will appear in the Gqeberha magistrate court on Monday, 8 August 2022.
