South African Police Service efforts to deal with the burglaries paid off on 19 May 2020, when three suspects aged between 18 and 19 years were arrested for possession of suspected stolen computers.

It is alleged that Tsomo Detectives followed up information regarding a case of burglary business which occurred at one of the High Schools on 20 April 2020. That information led them to the house in Mzomhle Admin Area, Tsomo where they found three suspects and recovered 15 tablet phones and five computers.

Police investigation continues to determine if the suspects could not be linked to other similar business burglaries.

All the suspects appeared before Tsomo Magistrate Court on 20 May 2020, on charges of business burglary and possession of suspected stolen property and were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on 12 June 2020.

Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Andries Swart applauded the Detectives for their determination in ensuring that perpetrators are arrested and brought to book. He also urged community members to report suspicious activities at schools and work together with the police to end the burglaries and vandalism at schools.
