A multi-disciplinary operation conducted by Flying Squad members, a private Security Company and the Community Police Forum resulted in the confiscation of various bank cards and an undisclosed amount of cash.
It is alleged that Wednesday, 15 March 2023 at about 09:30, the team followed information of a suspected vehicle alleged to be used in scamming innocent victims of their bank cards.
The vehicle was spotted and upon searching it, approximately 15 different bank cards and an undisclosed amount of money was recovered.
Preliminary investigation revealed that some bank cards were stolen during February 2023.
Two suspects, aged 28 and 34, suspected to be from East London, were arrested and detained on charges of possession of suspected stolen bank cards and Fraud.
They are expected to appear in the Komani Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 17 March 2023.
