Queenstown K9 members in conjunction with members of the Flying Squad Unit responded to an attempted hijacking at N6 on the way from East London.

On arrival at the scene, four suspects were arrested and two Avanza vehicles and two unlicensed firearms were recovered. All suspects were detained and will appear before Queenstown Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 May 2018.

Lady Frere detectives together with Vispol members had a breakthrough in numerous cases of housebreakings that were reported. Members conducted a search in a house used for criminal activities and managed to recover various items including televisions, bicycles and other household items. Three suspects were arrested in possession of suspected stolen property.

Members of the Stock Theft Unit assisted by K9 members followed information of a stock theft case reported at Queenstown where fourteen sheep were stolen. Three suspects were arrested and six live sheep were recovered while eight was already slaughtered.

Suspects will appear before Queenstown Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 May 2018. The Cluster Commander of Queenstown, Maj Gen Funeka Siganga commended all members involved in the operations.
