East London mounted unit members patrolled the Quigney area and stop and search was done. Gonubie Crime Prevention members together with Mdantsane Flying Squad acted on the information given and confiscated 20kg of dagga with a street value estimated R12 000 and one male suspect was arrested.

One liquor outlet shop was closed for operating without licence. Whereas in Buffalo Flats 4 suspects between the ages of 16 and 32 years were arrested on Possession of 35 mandrax tablets, Tik, and dagga.

Two drunken drivers were arrested in Duncan Village and one 24 year old male suspect was arrested for Possession of Dagga. A 76 years old female suspect was arrested in Kids Beach for Dealing in Drugs.

Chalumna police members followed up an information of a stock theft and arrested a 48 year old male suspect on Possession of suspected stolen goats and an unlicensed 9mm Norinco pistol with 14 live rounds was also found in his possession.

East London police members managed to arrest 14 suspects between the ages of 20 and 45 years for Possession of Dagga, Tik, Cocaine and mandrax tablets and 33 knives were confiscated while the members were conducting stop and search.

All suspects will appear in the East London Magistrate Court on 28 May 2018.

The Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Mxolisi Mqotyana commended the members on the effort they made to bring the perpetrators to justice. “Let us reclaim the space occupied by the criminals and make sure that the community is safe and secured” he said.
