On Wednesday 6 November 2019, two stations within the Cluster, Barkly East and Dordrecht held a successful operation.

The operation focused on compliance visits at liquor outlets such as taverns, most wanted suspects and to intensify police visibility patrols in the hot spot areas ahead of the festive season.

In Dordrecht, the SAPS operated around the township, members of Visible Policing and Elliot K9 Unit formed part of the operation and knives were recovered.

During the same day in Barkly East, members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in partnership with other stakeholders such as Department of Health and Joe Gqabi District Municipality Health practitioners embarked on an operation visiting spaza shops as part of compliance inspections focusing on Municipality Bylaws.

While inspecting the shops, members successfully managed to remove expired food, with an estimated value of R1500, 00, from the shelves.

The Elliot acting Cluster Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Adolf commended the swift reaction by SAPS members and thanked the external stakeholders for offering their services. This was a good initiative said Adolf. As the organization we will continue to intensify these operations during the festive period.
