Dutywa Police arrested three men aged 22, 27 and 29 for murder and robbery. It is alleged that the three suspects went to the homestead of the 58 year old woman on Thursday, 13 June 2019 at about 19:30 at Lencane Locality, Ngcingwane Village, Dutywa. They pretended to be buying something as the homestead is also used as a spaza shop.
The suspects robbed undisclosed amount of money. One of the suspects drew firearm and shot the 58 year old woman on her upper body. She passed away at the scene. The suspects were all arrested on Friday, 14 June 2019 at about 19:00 at Mamfeneni Locality, Ngxakaxha Village, Dutywa.
The 27 year old suspect was found in possession of unlicensed firearm namely pistol with six (6) live rounds of ammunition.
The suspects will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 18 June 2019.
