Continued eradication and clamping down on illegal drug trafficking in the Humewood station precinct are attributed to the joint operation with other law enforcement agencies. Various SAPS units and the Nelson Mandela Metro Police were part of a crime intelligence driven operation in the Central area in Port Elizabeth.

Search warrants were executed at premises in Burt Street, Parliament Street and Russell Road.

During the execution of the search warrants, police seized packets of cocaine (1588 grams), Dagga (2235 grams, 6 half moon cocaine and tik (207 grams), an undisclosed amount of cash and a stolen Nikon camera.

The camera was reported stolen at Humewood SAPS. The total street value is estimated at R531 000.00, four suspects, 3 males aged between 28 and 41 years and 1 female, aged 24 were arrested and detained on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and an additional charge of possession of drugs were added to the male suspects.

The suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth New Law Courts on Monday 19 November 2018.
The operational strategies by the police keep bearing fruitful results through intelligence led joint operations.
