During a combined operation with Grahamstown K9 Unit, Operational Command Centre members (OCC) and the Traffic department, 2 suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs.
Members on duty stopped a Volkswagen Caddy during a vehicle checkpoint. During a search of the vehicle 5.4kgs of Ephedrine HCL was seized.
The vehicle was also seized. Ephedrine is used to make Tik or part of Tik. The value of the drugs seized is R250 000.
The average cost of the drug is between R30 000 to R50 000 per kilogram.
