Two suspects, Nobelungu Basayile (46) and Thabile Mehlomakhulu (32) were arrested for business robbery and appeared at the Queenstown Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 12 February 2021.
It is alleged that on 10 February 2021, an armed man entered the bank at a mall in Queenstown and robbed the bank teller of an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled the scene in a VW vehicle with two females.
An intensive investigation commenced which led to the arrest of the two females and the recovery of the hired getaway vehicle as well as stolen cash.
The matter was postponed to 18 February 2021 for a formal bail application. The male is being sought and his arrest is imminent.
