Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Ntshinga visited the Kareedouw police station after it was attacked during the early hours of Saturday morning, 4 August 2018.

Firearms and ammunition were stolen by four brazen thieves. Lt Gen Ntshinga met with the Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brig Lebok and the Station Commander of SAPS Kareedouw, Capt De Vos.

Shortcomings were discussed and addressed. Lt Gen Ntshinga informed the senior officers present during her visit that enhanced proactive and preventable measures must be immediately implemented and enforced in order to mitigate further attacks.

The Provincial Commissioner encouraged operational members at the Community Service Centre and reiterated that’ we cannot allow these criminals to come into our house and attack us. An attack on the police station and our members, is a direct attack on the State. We need to protect our family and our property.’ She reinvigorated the Station Commander, his management and the members to be strong and positive and always remember their safety is our concern too.
