Operation crime combat police members (OCC) continue to show their commitment to create a safe and secure environment for all people and addressing the root causes of crime in the community.

Their crime prevention strategy is also targeting those drug dealers in rural areas around Mdantsane cluster. In Nkqonkqweni locality outside Mdantsane, police arrested a 40 year old suspect during an intelligence driven drug operation.

We have long been suspecting he was selling drugs from his home.

Police confiscated 125 Mandrax tablets, one plastic bag of tik, 46 bompies of dagga and a bag full of loose dagga, with an estimated street value of R8, 420.

The suspect is due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on charges of drug dealing.
