Police seek woman who dumped new born baby in bushes, Kabega Park

SAPS Kabega Park detectives is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a woman who dumped a new born baby in bushes in Westbrook in the Kabega Park area.

According to video footage, on 26 April 2020 at 09:35, a maroon Haval H1 stopped near an open field/bushes near the school in Westbrook. A woman alighted from the driver’s side of the vehicle and was seeing throwing a black bag in the bushes and thereafter drove off.

On 2 May 2020 at about 11:10, a vagrant was rummaging through the rubbish bags and found the naked baby boy between clothing. The body was already decomposing. A post mortem will be held to determine the exact cause death.

An inquest docket is opened and police are looking the woman in the video footage. Anyone who can assist in tracing her is asked to contact D/Sgt Chantall Joubert at SAPS Kabega Park on 041 3976856 or 082 739 5959.
