SAPS Bethelsdorp detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying and tracing the next of kin of an unidentified body of a male found in Timothy Valley on the morning of 13 December 2020.

It is alleged that at about 02:00, SAPS Bethelsdorp attended to a complaint of a body lying at the corners of France and Lingilishle Streets. The deceased person was semi naked with his pants lying next to him. He sustained a gunshot wound to his neck and two wounds on his left shoulder. He is unknown at this stage.

He has tattoo marks on his upper body. A name printed ‘Poppie” is on his shoulder. He is between the ages of 30-35 years old. He is dark in complexion and his is race is undetermined at this stage.

A case of murder is under investigation and anyone who can assist police in their investigation or can identify the deceased or may know his next of kin is asked to contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Allan Stuurman on 071 608 1641 or SAPS Bethelsdorp on 041 403 1910 or their nearest police station. All information is confidential and callers may remain anonymous.

In another unrelated incident, SAPS Mount Road detectives is also trying to trace the next of kin of an unidentified man found whose body was found lying in Old Grahamstown Road in Deal Party early on the morning of 13 December, 2020.

It is alleged that at about 01:00, police responded to a complaint of a person lying in the road. On arrival, the body of an unknown male was found with multiple injuries. It is alleged that the pedestrian was knocked over by a vehicle. He is unknown at this stage.

A case of culpable homicide is being investigated and anyone who can identify the deceased or may know his next of kin is asked to contact Detective Constable Robin Meyer at SAPS Mount Road on 041 394 6316 or the nearest police station.
