The South African Police Service in Kamesh are investigating a case of murder following the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man at 14:30 on 23 April 2020.

It is alleged that the 21-year-old man was in Spekboom Avenue, Thomas Gamble, Uitenhage when he was approached by two males. Both males took out firearms and fired several shots at the 21-year-old man, fatally injuring him.

The motive for the murder is not clear at this stage and detectives are following up on several leads. The name of the victim will be released after formal identification was completed.

The acting Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ronald Koll has instructed that additional manpower must be deployed in the area in an attempt to curb these senseless killings.

The SAPS wants to encourage the community to work with the SAPS in reducing crime and they appeal to the community to provide valuable information that will lead to the arrest of those involved in crime.
